 Application Engineer – Workday Compensation & Benefits

 Hybrid – Eton Centris, QC 

Summary 

The Application Engineer – Workday Compensation & Benefits provides functional and technical expertise in configuring, integrating, and supporting Workday solutions across Compensation, Benefits, and related HCM modules. This role ensures scalable, reliable, and compliant system performance while enabling business-critical HR processes. 

Responsibilities 

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workday Compensation & Benefits, with exposure to adjacent modules (Payroll, Integrations, Security, Data Conversion)  

  • Configure, customize, and maintain Workday applications and enterprise integrations  

  • Support the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment, and post-production support  

  • Translate business requirements into scalable, fit-for-purpose technical solutions  

  • Integrate Workday with enterprise platforms such as SAP and ServiceNow  

  • Provide production support, including incident resolution, root cause analysis, and performance optimization  

  • Monitor interfaces, data loads, and system performance, ensuring data integrity and operational stability  

  • Participate in Agile/DevOps teams, contributing to continuous delivery and change management initiatives  

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements  

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures  

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security, data governance, and IP standards 

  

  Qualifications 

  • Strong expertise in Workday Compensation & Benefits modules, with working knowledge of:  

  • Core HCM  

  • Payroll  

  • Absence Management  

  • Time Tracking  

  • Integrations, Security, and Data Conversion  

  • Hands-on experience with Workday tools and technologies, including:  

  • Advanced Custom Reports  

  • EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder)  

  • Core Connectors  

  • PICOF / PECI  

  • Workday Studio  

  • Workday Web Services  

  • Experience with enterprise integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, SAP, ServiceNow HRSD)  

  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles and SDLC practices  

  • Experience with scripting, automation, or low-code development platforms  

  • Strong knowledge of data integration, validation, and transformation processes  

  • Experience working within Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban)

  • Experience with ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (HRSD)  

  • Familiarity with enterprise HR ecosystems and integrations architecture  

  • Hands-on experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, SQL, Node.js)  

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure)  

  • Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
